Description
The Republic of China, also known as Taiwan, previously known as Formosa, is not officially recognised by the People's Republic of China (mainland China), although there is no doubt that it does in fact exist as an independent state.
Its official mint is called the Central Mint of China, on its website abbreviated to CMC.
We have also given the address of the Bank of Taiwan.
More information on the political status of the Republic of China can be found on the CIA's website under Taiwan.
This page is part of the "Mints of the World" website, created to provide a list of world mints together with brief contact and other general information about them for coin collectors, dealers, numismatists.
